Principal Bassist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra since 1988 - under Conductors like Mariss Jansons, André Previn and Jukka Pekka Saraste. Styffe played many years as the Principal Bassist in The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra (Leader Iona Brown) and in The Norwegian Opera Orchestra. He is now Professor at The Norwegian Academy of Music and Barratt Due's Institute of Music.
